11 to 13 November, Ljubljana
Literaturhaus.net network from the German-speaking area unites 14 literary houses from Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Their meeting in Ljubljana is the first one outside these countries and they invited partners from Norway, Bulgaria and the UK, as well as Slovenia, to join and discuss new presentation possibilities of literary events. The Traduki meeting will take place in Ljubljana for the second time in the past ten years since both, the Traduki network and the Slovenian Book Agency, have been established. 40 members from both groups will meet, new plans will be made – should be exciting!
Members of Traduki, a European network for literature and books (which celebrates 10 years in 2019, just like the Slovenian Book Agency), involves founding members from Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Germany, Kosovo, Liechtenstein, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia and Switzerland. The network, which implements a translation support program for an exchange between member countries, will have its regular semi-annual meeting in Ljubljana, where the members will be considering translation proposals from their latest call for proposals and the future cooperation of the network members.
Every year at the Leipzig Book Fair Traduki also organizes common program with authors from all member countries. However, there will be an important novelty in 2020: a common fair stand presentation in terms of space and visual elements. This will ensure additional visibility and more financially favorable fair presentation for member countries.
Literaturhaus.net network from the German-speaking area unites 14 literary houses from Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Their meeting in Ljubljana is the first one outside these countries and they would like to use this opportunity to learn about current Slovenian literary scene, our innovative literary event forms, literary venues in Ljubljana, Slovenian literary producers and their way of promoting literature in public space. A rich, two-day program will consist of the professional part at Vodnikova Homestead (Ljubljana's literary house and the seat of Ljubljana – Unesco City of Literature team) and sight-seeings and meetings in the city centre. German guests will be accompanied by representatives of similar institutions from Oslo, London and Sofia.
